DATA CFO receives award established in memory of beloved employee

Jupiter, Florida – During its recent annual meeting, DATA CFO Micheleen Hughes became the first recipient of the Laurie Henry Award. The award was created in honor of Laurie Henry, a beloved, long-time DATA employee who died of cancer in 2005.

Hughes, who was stunned upon hearing her name announced as the first recipient of the award, started working at DATA in 1993 as its CFO and has been in the position for 27 years. As DATA CEO John Fowler explains, “we created the Laurie Henry Award to honor an employee who exemplified all the qualities that Laurie held. Like Laurie, Micheleen is one of the most loyal, dedicated, trustworthy and committed people I have known. I would trust Micheleen with my life.”

A Jensen Beach native, Henry applied to become a TASC (Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities) case manager in 1991, soon after graduating from the University of Central Florida with a degree in psychology. She went on to become the director of outpatient services and then the director of quality assurance. The job became Laurie Henry’s life, for the rest of her life. Her excellence and willingness to succeed were felt by all who knew her. She was the perfect role model, employee and friend.
