Salary: $47,000 – $50,000/yr with excellent benefits
Position Hours: Monday through Thursday, Noon to 8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, providing integrated services to clients with substance use issues, including co-occurring disorders;
- Conducting biopsychosocial assessments and collaboratively developing individualized, strengths-based care plans;
- Providing culturally aware, evidence-based individual, family and group therapy, including crisis counseling, within a recovery-oriented system of care;
- Maintaining weekly contact with your clients, including assisting them with accessing community resources identified on their care plan (i.e., case management); and
- Embracing agency and system of care initiatives, including Zero Suicide, ROSC, Trauma Informed Care, Racial Equity, etc.
Education & Experience: A Master’s Degree in an accepted behavioral health field with preferably at least one (1) year experience conducting biopsychosocial assessments, case management, individual, family, and/or group therapy. Experience in navigating Microsoft Word, Excel and web-based programs is essential. Preference for experience working with adolescents with behavioral health challenges. Bilingual a plus.
Must be able to pass a Level II Background Screening, a urinalysis test and have a valid Florida Driver’s License and personal, reliable transportation.
Residential Therapist

Salary: $46,000-$51,000 /yr with excellent benefits
Position Hours: Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm; Monday through Thursday 12:00pm-8:00pm or Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm; Tuesday through Friday 12:00pm-8:00pm.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral health field required, Master’s degree preferred
Duties and Responsibilities: Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary residential treatment team to provide strengths-based, individualized, recovery-oriented individual, family and group treatment and care coordination to youth experiencing substance use or co-occurring behavioral health issues.
The Residential Therapist within Drug Abuse Treatment Association is responsible for the following:
- Meeting program and contract outcomes as defined in the agencies annual organization plan.
- Provide individual and family therapy to a caseload of 10 – 15 clients and provide a minimum of 24 direct service hours per week.
- Facilitate engaging, client-centered process, life skills and educational groups that effectively meet the youth’s needs.
- Utilize evidence-based strategies (A-CRA, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral approaches, S.E.L.F. curriculum, One Circle, Character Counts, etc.) to facilitate change.
- Maintain frequency of contact with clients on an active caseload as defined by agency requirements.
- Complete all documentation accurately and in accordance with established timelines and agency, state, Medicaid, federal and CARF guidelines.
- Provide screening, intake, crisis and emergency services as needed. Screen referrals for appropriateness and eligibility and identification of any co-occurring conditions. Provide resources and information to the client about co-occurring disorders and the skills most effective in managing their challenges.
- Collaborate with psychiatric providers to ensure appropriate clients receive evaluations and maintain their medication regimen.
Must be able to pass a Level II Background Screening, a urinalysis test, and possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and personal, reliable transportation.
School-Based Behavioral Health Counselor
Location: Palm Beach county
Salary: $44,500/yr with excellent benefits
Position Hours: Palm Beach County High Schools Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Middle Schools 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m; Elementary Schools 8 a.m. – 2:05 p.m,. Hours may vary by school.
Education & Experience: Must have a Master’s Degree in the healing arts from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology or a related human services field. Must be a registered intern or willing to become a registered intern within 90 days. Experience working with youth with behavioral health issues preferred. Experience in navigating Microsoft Word and Excel and web-based programs is essential. Bilingual a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities: To work as part of the school-based behavioral health team providing evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, intervention, treatment, case management, and recovery services to students with one or more mental health or co-occurring substance abuse diagnoses and students at high risk of such diagnosis, including coordination of such services with other providers involved in the student’s care. This position requires flexibility and includes the following responsibilities:
- Provide the agency and district approved multi-tiered continuum of evidence-based behavioral health services to students and families at an assigned school designed to increase student health and wellbeing and decrease violence including:
- Assessment: Conduct approved behavioral health screenings and comprehensive assessments to students and families referred from School Based and Child Study teams and other district/school processes, resulting in a report with recommendations;
- Diagnosis: Utilize the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM 5) to accurately diagnose students with or at risk for behavioral health disorders;
- Intervention: Provide Tier 2 environmental, prevention, and brief intervention (including crisis management) strategies to enhance student wellbeing and prevent violence;
- Meet programmatic and contractual outcomes as defined in the Annual School-Based Behavioral Health Program Agreement. (To be developed. It will spell out expectations. We may not be able to determine the first year since we have no idea the intensity of each of the services provided).
- Actively participate in the School Based Team, Child Study Team, and other committees designed to address district/school processes.
- Document and Maintain all client files in accordance with agency, district, state, federal and CARF guidelines.

Position Hours: Palm Beach County High Schools Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Middle Schools 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hours vary by schools in Okeechobee, St. Lucie and Indian River counties.
Education & Experience: Must have a Master’s Degree in the healing arts from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human services field. Experience working with youth with behavioral health issues preferred. Experience in navigating Microsoft Word and Excel and web-based programs is essential. Bilingual a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities: School-Based Intervention Counselors provide evidence-based treatment (A-CRA, MI, CBT) to individuals at risk or with a diagnosed substance use disorder. This important position reports to the licensed Director of School-Based Programs. This position requires flexibility and includes the following responsibilities:
- Identifying students who may benefit from the program
- Conducting comprehensive intake assessments (biopsychosocial)
- Collaboratively develop an individualized, strengths-based treatment plan
- Provide evidence-based individual and family therapy in your assigned school
- Respond to crises using verbal de-escalation interventions
- Identify unmet needs and facilitate linkages to community providers
- Participate in school-based meetings when requested

School-Based Prevention Counselor

Salary: $37,500 – $41,250/yr with excellent benefits
Position Hours: Palm Beach County High Schools Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Middle Schools 8:30 a.m.. – 4:30 pm. Hours vary by the schools in Indian River and St. Lucie counties.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral health field required, Master’s degree preferred
Duties and Responsibilities: Members of our Prevention Team provide individual counseling, classroom instruction, and environmental awareness activities using the evidence-based Project SUCCESS (Schools Using Coordinated Community Efforts to Strengthen Students) intervention within their assigned school. Counselors are responsible for:
- Meeting program and contract outcomes as defined in the Agency’s annual organization plan
- Provide school-based outreach services to youth, families and staff
- Complete all administrative paperwork timely and accurately
- Screen referrals for appropriateness, eligibility and identification of any co-occurring conditions
- Facilitate recommendations and referrals as appropriate
- Participate in school-based teams as requested by schools

Assessment Specialist/Case Manager (TASC Specialist)
Salary: $45,000 – 48,000/yr. plus excellent benefits
Locations: Department of Juvenile Justice offices in West Palm Beach, Ft. Pierce, Stuart and Okeechobee
Position Hours: Ft. Pierce: Three days, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and two days 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. West Palm Beach: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Education & Experience: A Master’s Degree in an accepted behavioral health field with at least one (1) year prior experience conducting biopsychosocial assessments and case management. Experience in navigating Microsoft Word and Excel and web-based programs is essential. Preference for experience working with adolescents with behavioral health challenges. Bilingual a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities: The TASC Specialist works with youth and families that have involvement with the Department of Juvenile Justice. This extremely important position consists of the following primary activities:
- Receive and review referrals by Department of Juvenile Justice staff and contact youth and their parents/guardians to schedule an assessment
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to identify youth/family strengths and needs, and collaboratively develop a plan to address these needs
- Complete a comprehensive narrative of findings from the assessment and submit to the Department of Juvenile Justice and the courts
- Maintain weekly contact with the client and their family until they have been linked to community-based services
- Advocate for the client and their family

- Regularly communicate observations and concerns with appropriate staff (i.e., therapists, other resident managers, supervisors, etc.), and act as a liaison between the clients and supervisors.
- Embrace and enforce the rules and policies of the agency and residential facility at all times.
- Communicate well in group and individual situations and establish rapport with a wide variety of clients.
- Quickly evaluate crisis situations and respond appropriately.

- Develop cohesion and community in the facility by serving as a positive role model to clients, other staff members, and consistently engaging in appropriate behaviors and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Preventing conflict in the facility by utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques, and mediating conflicts by using a fair and balanced approach when they do occur.
- Regularly communicate observations and concerns with appropriate staff (i.e., therapists, resident managers, supervisors, etc.), and act as a liaison between the clients and supervisors.

- In collaboration with the Residential Program Supervisor and Residential Therapists, develop and post the weekly schedule.
- Design, monitor, and update an educational bulletin board on topics relevant to the client on a monthly basis.
- Facilitate transportation to clients as required. Transportation will occur in agency-owned vehicles only and all employees must meet agency requirements prior to providing transportation. Maintain a minimum hour of training as per Personnel Manual (DCF/Agency/CARF training) annually.
